Your First Visit
Things you can do to help your first visit run smoothly: On your First Visit please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This will allow an ample amount of time to fill out the necessary paperwork. If you would like our office to file claims with your insurance company please bring your insurance card and photo ID. Any MRIs, X-rays, or other diagnostic testing can be helpful as well. We prefer you bring the actual films but the report can be used until we can acquire the images. Also, please wear or bring some comfortable clothes (T-Shirt, shorts, jogging pants) so you feel comfortable and unrestricted during the examination process.
What to expect: On your first visit we will take a thorough history and perform a physical and functional examination to help find the source of your pain, injury or disability. In most cases, treatment will begin on the same day unless the nature of the problem makes that prohibitive. Initial treatment may include activity avoidance, homecare exercises, manual therapy, chiropractic manipulation or a combination of these treatments. This initial examination will take 30 - 60 minutes so please allow adequate time in your schedule.
Patient Paperwork is available here for you to download, print and fill out.
Insurances plans are confusing but together we will help you figure it out. Here at Healing Hands Family Chiropractic we truly try to help you understand what your insurance will and will not cover, so there are no surprises. Things that you can do to help understand better would be – Contact the number on the back of the card and ask the representatives what your chiropractic coverage is, how many visits are allowed per year, is there a limit on how much the insurance company will pay per visit, are there special forms that will be required and do they require a referral.
The cost of your first visit will be based on an estimate that the insurance company provides us. If you are using your health insurance we will file a claim for each visit on your behalf. Once we receive the EOB (explanation of benefits) we will then know for certain your financial responsibility.
There are so many different plans available and they change every year, even if your card looks the same as it did the previous year. Please notify our office if insurance plan changes or has been discontinued. Below are the insurance companies we are contracted with. Please call the office for more specifics as there are some specific plans within these companies that are closed and we are not In-Network.
